Investors In People (IIP) accreditation

Antur Teifi has once again successfully retained its Investors In People (IIP) accreditation.  IIP is the global standard for people management.

The award demonstrates our continued commitment in realising the potential of our staff to lead, support and manage their teams effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Working with clients across the globe, Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

FSB Search to Find the Ultimate Small Businesses is On

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) in Wales has launched its search to find the greatest small businesses from across the UK. From exporters to start-ups, from innovators to green businesses, and from family businesses to the best young entrepreneurs, small firms are being encouraged to enter FSB’s 2019 Celebrating Small Business awards.

The annual awards, which are open for entries, recognise a sector that makes up 99.9 per cent of all private sector businesses in the UK.

The Wales final will take place in Cardiff in March 2019, with all winners going on to compete at the UK national final taking place on 23 May 2019 at Evolution Battersea, London. Here, 10 UK category award winners will be announced from which the FSB UK Small Business of the Year 2019 will be chosen.

The award categories for the 2019 FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards are:

  • International Business of the Year
  • Ethical and Green Business of the Year
  • Business and Product Innovation Award
  • Digital Innovation of the Year
  • Micro Business of the Year
  • Start-Up Business of the Year
  • Scale-Up Business of the Year
  • Family Business of the Year
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year (aged 30 and under)
  • Employer of the Year
  • Community Award

The awards are free to enter and are open to all small firms. The closing date for Welsh entries is the 8th of February 2019.


The second CCP Networking meeting was held in the Emlyn Hotel, on Wednesday the 5th of December.  With a great turn out of businesses once again, delegates were treated to tea, coffee and bacon rolls whilst having the opportunity to chat and hear more about each other’s businesses.

CPP NetworkingA five minute presentation was given by John Evans of Workways+.  He gave a very interesting insight into the work of the organisation which offers training and paid work experience opportunities to long-term unemployed people to help get their lives back on track.  Hearing some of the success stories was truly inspirational, not only from the perspective of  the unemployed who had secured work but also from that of the employers in giving individuals these life-changing opportunities.

The Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire (CCP) Business Network  was set up by Dave and Claire Thomas of Thomas Safety Services Ltd as a non-profit group, and meetings are held on the FIRST WEDNESDAY of each month. (Except January 2019, which will be Wednesday 9th January 2019.) The entry fee is £5 per person which covers the cost of the refreshments,
